At a ceremony honoring fallen Clay City Police Chief Randy Lacy last Tuesday, a plague with Lacy’s Deputy Jailers badge was presented to the family. Lacy’s widow, Ruthie Lacy (right) presents the plaque to Powell County Jailer and Chief Lacy’s brother, Ted Lacy. The plaque was then placed on the wall in the Powell County Detention Center’s foyer.
Rosie Bennett, the widow of former Powell County Sheriff Steve Bennett and sister of former Powell County Deputy Sheriff Arthur Briscoe was on hand for the ceremony. Bennett and Briscoe were also slain in the line of duty and are honored with monuments in front of the Powell County Courthouse. (Click Local News for story)
