Benjamin Crouch, 23
Benjamin Dwayne Crouch, age 23, of Jakes Heavenly Highway in Irvine, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born Dec. 22, 1984 in Winchester and was the son of Kenneth Dwayne and Karen Sue Wasson Crouch. He was a student at Eastern Kentucky University and a member of the Kentucky National Guard. He attended the Ravenna Church of God. 
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth Dwayne and Karen Sue Wasson Crouch; one brother, Chad Crouch; grandparents, Kenneth and Diane Crouch of Jeffersonville; Bill and Kathy Wellman and Mattie Wasson, both of Winchester, Bill and Donna Wasson of Stanton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m., at the Ravenna Church of God by Rev. Tommy Schooler and Rev. Jerry Horn with burial at the Salem Cemetery. 
Pallbearers were  Marcus Crouch, Tim Cole, Jeff Cole, Rodney Crouch, Gunnar Holmberg, Eric Overbee, Adam Taylor, and Alex Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Tony Rogers, Stanley Harrison, Josh Witt, Josh Cox, Ben Fowler, Jay King, Wesley Roney and Shane Eversole.

Jackie Muncie, 55
Jackie Allen Muncie, 55, of 8th Ave., died Thursday at Stanton Nursing Center. He was born June 10, 1952 in Clay City to the late Shelby Muncie and Ella Willoughby Muncie.
Survivors include his mother, Ella Muncie; brothers, Scotty and wife, Brenda Muncie, Bobby Muncie and Ronnie Muncie; sisters, Inda Tincher and Nona Johnson, all of Clay City.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Wells Clay City Chappel by Bro. M.C. Rice with burial at Powells Valley Cemetery, Clay City.
Pallbearers were Earl “Bimbo” Strange, Ellis Ray Garrett, Johnny Marcum, Ronnie Powers, Gary Rice and Kiowa Muncie.

Zell Smith, 64
Zella Smith, 64, 3074 Furnace Road, Stanton, died Sunday at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. She was born Feb. 17, 1943 in Breathitt County to the late L. Caney and Fern Tyra Smith.
Survivors include her sisters, Louey Rose Hatton, Roena Brown and Elsie Mae Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home, Stanton by Rev. Kenny Wasson with burial at Stanton Cemetery.
Pallbearers were William T. Peck, Matthew Christopher Brown, Dallas Knox, Mark D. Brown, Henry, John and Jason Brown.

Bethel Crabtree, 101
Bethel Crabtree, 101, 1679 North Fork Road, widower of Lewis Talmadge Crabtree, died Thursday, Jan. 31 at Stanton Nursing Center. She was born Aug. 27, 1906 to the late John and Sarah Ellen Conway Bishop. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Marianna and husband Jimmy Skidmore of Stanton; daughters-in-law, Bobbi Crabtree Bowen and Mary Sons Crabtree; grandchildren, Rochelle and husband Robert Rose, Shawn and wife, Lana Skidmore, Becki and husband Parnett Lowe, Will and wife Connie Crabtree, Paul and wife Leslie Crabtree, Gerald Crabtree, John and wife Maranda Skidmore, Melody Skidmore, Brian and wife Sally Crabtree, Alicia Crabtree, and Sonya Crabtree; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Talmage and Wilson Crabtree; daughter, Agnes Crabtree; and grandsons, Greg Skidmore, J.L. Crabtree and Timmy Crabtree.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Wells Funeral Home, Stanton by Rev. Stephen Donithan with burial at Rest Haven Cemetery, Stanton.
Her grandsons served as pallbearers.

Roy Shuler, 94
Roy L. Shuler, 94, 1101 Rock of Ages Road, Beattyville, died Thursday at Lee County Care and Rehab . He was born May 13, 1913 in Lee County to the late Wesley and Myrtie Gross Shuler. He was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Shuler; brother, Elmer Shuler; and sisters, Ellie Spencer, Dovie Branham, Ivory Crowe and Ollie Branham.
Survivors include his children, Jesse Shuler of Alburquerque, NM, Donna Shockley, Los Lunas, NM, Bill Shuler of Hartsville, Tenn., Eugene Shuler, Seymour, Ind., Kathleen Boling of Seymour, Ind., Roger Shuler of Lexington, Ind., Marcella Griffiths of Lexington, Ind., Ada Malcomb of Lexington, Ind., Brenda Schmalz of Watseka, Ill., Carolyn Mailloux of Fowler, Ind., Dorothy Davidson of Deputy, Ind., Joyce Lamb of Deputy, Ind., Oscar Shuler of Deputy, Ind., Mike Shuler of Deputy, Ind., Lois Bailey of Winchester, Geraldine Dillard of Lancaster, Marilyn Burns of Winchester, David Shuler of Clay City and Bernice Hogan of Beattyville; brothers, James and Gary Shuler, both of Clay City; sisters, Flossie Shuler of Clay City and Clara Abney of Ohio; 46 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3 at Wells Clay City Chapel by Rev. Mike Shuler with burial at Cobhill Cemetery, Estill County.

Joyce Reece, 55
Joyce Ann Reece, 55, of 555 West Railroad Street, Apt. 33, wife of Rick T. Reece, died Monday, Feb. 4 at Clark Regional Medical Center, Winchester. She was born Jan. 20, 1953 in Winchester, Ind., a daughter of the late Jefferson Crusoe and Reva Mays Burton. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Rick T. Reece of Stanton; daughters, Christina Ann Reece and Reva Michelle Reece, both of Stanton; step-daughter, Julie Dawson of Decater, Ala.; brothers, Jim Burton of Irvine, Matt Burton of Richmond, Ind. and Danny Burton of Richmond, Ind.; sisters, Ilene Bennett of Richmond, Ind. and Sylvia Sparks of Tennessee; grandchildren, Dixie Reece, Patrick Morguson and Jameson Rogers; step-grandchildren, Travis Dawson, Austin Lamb and Olivia Lamb.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home, Stanton by Bro. Darrell Mullins with burial at Kennon Cemetery, Clay City.
Pallbearers were Rick Reece, Christina Ann Reece, Reva Michelle Reece, Eric Rogers, Josh Morguson, Robert Mason, Buddy Mason, Scotty Calahan and Jeff Calahan. Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Mepco Home Health and Troy Brooks.
