Edward Center, 58
Edward G. Center, 58, died Wednesday, Dec. 12 at St. Claire Regional Medical Center. He was a long-time resident of both Powell County and St. Cloud, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Treva Center; and a brother, Paul Center.
He is survived by a son, Michael Center; a daughter, Ranya Morris; four step-children, Gerald Chism, Robin Stockdale, John Chism, Travos Chism; four sisters, Margie Daniels, Connie Townsend, Phyllis Muncie and Sue Profitt; a brother, David Center; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at Powell’s Valley Church Friday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. by Rev. Marion Brewer.
The family requests donations be made to the Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE, 68410, or a charity of your choice.

Mollie Lucas, 77
Mollie Lee Lucas, 77, a resident of LaPine and formerly of Powell County, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007 at Baptist South Hospital after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Lucas Sr.; her father and mother, Clyde and Sudie Birch.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Dickinson (Dennis) of Dallas Ga.; son, Kyle Lucas Jr. (Jerri); four grandchildren, Tonya McClellen, Dennis Dickinson Jr., Emily Lucas and Felicia Estes; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home by Chuck Francisco with burial at Greenwood Cemetery.

Cynthia Hughes, 41
Cynthia Lea Hughes, 41, Hartley Dr., Nicholasville, died Sunday, Dec. 16 at his home. She was born April 9, 1966 in Mt. Sterling to Katherine Keith Hughes and the late Alvin Hughes.
She is survived by her mother, Katherine Hughes of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Robin (Michael) Lyon of Dayton, Ohio, and Tammy (Chester) Parks of Kingland, Ga; one brother, Alvin (Pamela) Hughes of Mims, Fla.; nephew, Charles Dale Abney; several nieces and nephews and long-time partner, Tommy.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home by Rev. David Rule with burial at Spencer-Oliver Cemetery, Lee County.

Debra Netherly, 50
Debra L. Tipton Netherly, 50, wife of Robert Pete Netherly, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at Central Baptist Hospital. She was born March 30, 1957 in Powell County, a daughter of the late Sheridan Tipton and Gladys Knox Tipton. She was a member of the Stanton Church of Christ.
She is survived by her mother, Gladys Tipton; husband, Pete Netherly; a son, Robert Shawn and wife Leslie Netherly; a daughter, Samantha Lynn Netherly; brothers, Roger Dean and wife Vonda Tipton and Ricky Glenn Tipton; sisters, Linda Gail and husband David Lane and Sandra and husband Anthony Floyd; and a granddaughter, Madison Lynn Roberts, all of Stanton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. at Wells Funeral Home, Stanton by Bro. Brock Hartwigsen and Bro. Tom Boyette with burial at Knox Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ricky Tipton, Dean Tipton, Chase Tipton, Billy Tipton, Buck Hunter, Anthony Floyd and Roger Dale Lane.

Thomas Everman Sr., 89
Thomas S. Everman Sr., 89, of West Bend, died Saturday, Dec. 15 at Clark Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 27, 1918 in Clark County to the late John W. and Delila M. Everman. He was retired from Harrod and Early Chevrolet and was a member of the West Bend Church of God. He is preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Everman, who died Sept. 28, 2007.
He is survived by daughters, Beverly “Snookie” White of Stanton, Linda (Bill) Furay of West Carrolton, Ohio, Marilyn (Doug) Finney of Clay City; a son, Tommy (Terrie) Everman of Richmond; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the West Bend Church of God.
Pallbearers were Richard “Dickey” Rice, Ricky Miller, Kenneth “Goat” Rice, Shade Allen Miller, Doug and Greg Adams, and Barry Fallen. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Noss, Dr. Ertel, members of the West Bend Church of God, nieces, nephews, Mae Knox, Larry Brandenburg, Mary Virginia Johnson and Josh Wells.
Wells Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
