Dorothy West, 72
Dorothy Clay Grooms West, 72, Main Street, Jeffersonville, wife of Dorris West Jr., died Aug. 18, 2007 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born Jan. 11, 1935 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Robert Lee and Gladys Barnes Grooms. She was a retired A.O. Smith employee. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Mae Havens Curtis; and one sister, Flossie Caudill.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Wendell Welch and Dennis Havens, both of Jeffersonville, and Dwayne Havens of Stanton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one stepson, Henry Chandler; one step-daughter, Rachel Crouch; three brothers, John Howard Grooms and Robert Pete Brooms, both of Jeffersonville, and Cecil Morton Grooms of Mt. Sterling.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals by Bro. William Prater with burial at Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shane Finch, Whitney Welch, Jason Havens, Jeff Grooms, Craig Gilliam and Dewey Hollon.
