Norman Richardson, 65
Norman Richardson, 65, Bertha Wallace Drive, husband of Maudie Cox Richardson, died Thursday at Irvine Health & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. He was born April 12, 1942 in Jackson County, a son of the late Hershel and Ola B. Cox Richardson. He was a member of Drip Rock Baptist Church, and a retired sawmill worker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Richardson.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Maudie, include a daughter, DeAnn Coffman of Irvine; two step-daughters, Darla Benningfield of Stanton and Tammy Tipton of Irvine; a step-son, Ivan Rogers of Irvine; three sisters, Josephine Ramsey of Irvine, Eunice Woolery of Morton, Minn., and Eva Cox of Irvine; a brother, Glen Richardson of Irvine; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lewis Funeral Home by William Daily Jr. with burial at the Richardson Cemetery, Drip Rock.
Pallbearers were Tim Benningfield, Corey Benningfield, James Smith, Aaron Tipton, Brian Tipton and Ivan Rogers.

Bertha Brooks, 78
Bertha Elsie Brooks, 78, widow of Ellis Brooks, died Thursday, Aug. 3 at Stanton Nursing Center. She was born Oct. 28, 1928 in Morgan County to the late L.B. Miller and Ethel Keller Miller.
She is survived by a son, Earl Brooks of Stanton; daughters, Betty Henson of Tampa, Fla., and Barbara Snedegar of Clay City; a brother, L.B. Miller of Winchester; sisters, Dorothy Shanks and Cletta Crawford, both of Winchester, and Beulah Cox; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wells Clay City Chapel by Rev. Ike Miller with burial at Brooks and Means Cemetery, Irvine.
Pallbearers were Jason Sizemore, Doug Carmichael, Damon Brooks, Earl Brooks, Doug Miller and Wayne Sexton.

Richard Morton, 83
Richard “Dick” Morton, 83, husband of Bonnie Johnson Morton, died June 26, 2007 at his home. He was born June 15, 1924 in Stanton to the late Charlie and Polly Abner Morton. He was an Army veteran of WWII, a member of Brookside Baptist Church, founding member of Lone Oak Country Club where he also made the first hole-in-one, a former Lions Club member, former Babe Ruth coach and was retired after 30 years as manager of Delta Natural Gas Company in Nicholasville. He was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include two daughter, Connie (Barry Joe) Harvey of Nicholasville, Barbara Duncan of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Dale (Theresa) Morton of Georgetown, Tony (Gerri) Morton of Lancaster and Ralph (Carolyn) Witt of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Mae Tharp; a brother, Robert Morton; a special niece, Minnie Harrison, all of Stanton; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other family members.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 on Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home by Rev. Dewayne Brewer and Rev. Jim Harrison with burial at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe, Jason and Justin Harvey, Bryan Witt, Craig, Todd and Adam Morton and John Duncan. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Peel, Earl Hall, Dan Stocker, Bob Fain, George Overstreet, Bob and Roger Kanatzer, Bob Powers, Ben Dye, Charlie Hood, Lloyd Hoover and Bob Miller.
