Reunions

Hall-Case
The Hall, Case reunion will be held Oct. 17 at the Senior Citizen Center. Lunch will begin at 1 p.m. Please bring a covered dish. There will be entertainment with two country groups, Fade-n-roses and the Bailey Family. Everyone is welcome.

Lutes
The descendants and friends of Jesse and Cora Hall Lutes will have a reunion on Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at the fellowship hall at Bethel Christian at Fox. Bring a dish and old photos to share. Everyone is invited.

McKinney
The RB McKinney reunion will be the first Sunday in October at 10 a.m. at the Estill County Fair Barn. Everyone is welcome. Bring a covered dish and join us.

Community Calendar

National Guard Supper
Charlie Company will have a soup bean supper on Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. at the Ravenna Armory. All former, present and retired personnel are invited to attend. Call 606-723-3238 or 606-723-7618.

Cornhole Classic
The First Annual Kentucky River Cornhole Classic, sponsored by American Legion Post #79 and the Estill County Chamber of Commerce will be at the American Legion Post, 730 Millers Creek Road, Ravenna Sunday, Oct. 18. Registration begins at 1 p.m.; first bags thrown at 2 p.m. There will be concessions, bike show, classic car cruise-in, inflatables, raffles, fun for the whole family. Join the Legion for a day of honoring the service men and women with food, fun, prizes and cornhole. Active military eat free with valid ID. Tournament is sanctioned by the American Cornhole Association.

Kroger Reunion
Anyone who worked at Kroger in Irvine is invited to a luncheon at Cedar Village Oct. 17 at 1 p.m. If you have any questions call 859-200-6233.

IHS Class of 1945
The Irvine High School Class of 1945 will hold their 64th reunion on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Cedar Village Restaurant. The group will begin meeting around 5 p.m. with dinner around 6:30 p.m.

Retired Teachers
Estill County Retired Teachers will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. at Cedar Village Restaurant. Those planning on eating may do so between 5 and 6 p.m.  Mr. Cebert Gilbert, KRTA President, will be speaking on upcoming legislative issues. All retired and active teachers are invited to attend.

Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW
Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram/UAW retirees will meet 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the Union Hall on Bloomfield Road. Following the meeting, the retirees and guests will travel to Natural Bridge State Park for lunch.

Hargett Fire Department Auxiliary
The Hargett Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will have a Fund Raiser Yard Sale and Bake Sale on Saturday Oct. 10. from 9 ?. There will be something for everyone. We will be accepting yard sale donations on Friday from 2 pm -?  If you have any questions please call 723-8040.

Caregiver Training
Madison County Alzheimer's Family Caregiver training program is for those who have a friend or family member who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. Local and statewide experts in aging and Alzheimer's care will present on Alzheimer's disease, caregiving basics, legal decisions, and how to care for the caregiver. The program will be on Friday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Madison County Extension Office. Registration is $10 and includes lunch. Registration is required; call 1-800-272-3900.

Exercise Classes
The Body Fitness Exercise classes led by Sister Loretta Spotila, RN will meet in the gym of the Central Office Building, 253 Main Street. These classes use gentle exercise and movement and are designed to build strength and flexibility. Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. For more information call 723-8505.

American Legion
American Legion Post 79 will have a dance Oct. 30 from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. All members and guests are welcome. Come out and enjoy the evening.

Sons of the Legion
Post 79 Irvine Sons of the Legion will have a fishing tournament Oct. 10 from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Boy Scout Round Up
Boy Scout Troop 144 invites all 11 year old and older boys to come check out the Boy Scouts. Class of 1994
The Class of 1994 will have their 15 year class reunion on Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. at the Estill County Fair Barn.

Homeschool Enrichment
The Homeschool Enrichment Group will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Estill County Public Library. The guest presenters will be from the U.S. Forest Service. For more information call Virginia Owens at 723-3030.

Old Time Day
The Estill County Historical and Genealogy Society will host their 9th annual Old Time Day Oct. 17 at the museum on Broadway beginning at 10 a.m. There will be corn grinding, soup beans and corn bread, hit and miss engines, music and displays of crafts. Everyone is invited.

IHS Class of 1947-48

The Estill County Public Library and the Estill County schools have expanded their popular online tutoring program, Live Homework Help to include more services for every member of the community. To access the service visit the library's website at www.estillcountylibrary.org and enter your Live Homework Help card number. Financial Peace Classes
Financial Peace Classes meet every Wednesday for 12 weeks from now to Dec. 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Estill County Library. To register call 859-624-4116, ext. 306. There is no cost to residents of Estill, Powell, Madison or Clark counties (a service of foothills CAP).

Food Bank
The Estill County Community Food Bank needs to stock the shelves of the pantry. A collection container will be located in the Extension Office and other places where donations of non-perishable items (canned, boxed foods, etc.) may be dropped off. Please help support this worthy program to help the less fortunate.

Mommie and Me
Mommie and Me Storytime groups will be every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and every Friday at 10:30 a.m. These groups are for children ages 2 through 5. Bring your child to the library for a story, an art activity, and a snack. Call 723-3030 for more information.
